The world’s largest Olympic-style festival for dogs and their owners is back in Mid-Michigan this weekend. The 19th annual Frankenmuth Dog Bowl festival is being held Saturday and Sunday at Frankenmuth River Place Shops.
The festival features a wide range of exciting competitions, including DockDogs and Disc Dogs of Michigan. Visitors can also enjoy border collie sheep herding demonstrations, lure courses, and dog mushing shows.
“Frankenmuth Dog Bowl is seriously just a piece of our lives, like a huge piece of our lives,” said Rachael Brinkman of Einstein Dog Training. “We’ve been coming to Dog Bowl competing in Dock Dogs since 2013 when my husband and I moved back to Michigan.”
The event is free and open to the public. All dogs are welcome, provided they are on a leash no longer than six feet.
