Doug the Pug, a famous influencer, founder, and movie star, has added another achievement to his list.
Just days before his 13th birthday on May 17, Doug received an honorary degree from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. The pug has over 15 million followers on social media.
Doug’s owner, Leslie Mosier, shared her excitement with PEOPLE. She said, “I was shocked and very excited! It never gets old to be part of something new with Doug. We are grateful for every moment and every fun new adventure.”
Doug wore a tiny cap and gown to the university’s graduation ceremony. He received an honorary degree in “Furensic Science.”
Mosier explained the meaning behind the degree. “Doug was awarded an honorary degree in ‘Furensic Science’ as a playful nod to one of the university’s top programs, Forensic Science. This program was started by the legendary Dr. Henry C. Lee, who also gave the commencement speech.”
