More than a dozen dead dogs were found frozen in a garage behind The Parlour of Jackson ice cream shop on Sunday afternoon. The shop’s owner, Scott Pienta, told 6 News about the discovery.
Pienta learned about the frozen dogs when his son called him from one of the garages behind the restaurant. Inside a cooler, they found several frozen dogs. The cooler belonged to someone who used to work in the area.
Pienta said he had no idea the cooler contained dead dogs. “We just thought it was more of her stuff,” he said. “I wasn’t going through all of her possessions before I bought this building. We were just giving her time to remove everything.”
The discovery came after repeated attempts to get the person to clear out the space.
“For almost two and a half months, we’ve been trying to get her to remove her things,” Pienta said. “There have been many threats and a lot of patience. Now we’re reaching the point where we have to involve our attorneys.”
