With over 6,000 dog attacks on postal workers reported in the past year, the U.S. Postal Service is launching its annual National Dog Bite Awareness Campaign on June 1.
According to USPS data, Los Angeles led the nation in 2024 with 77 reported dog attacks on mail carriers. Houston came in second with 65 incidents, followed by Chicago with 57.
Several other California cities also appeared in the top 20, including San Diego, Sacramento, San Francisco, Stockton, and Oakland.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage pet owners to take steps to keep postal workers safe during deliveries.
