Tommy Schumpert Park in Knox County has been nominated for one of the top 10 best dog parks in the U.S. The park is currently ranked second and has received national attention for the top amenities it provides pets and their owners.
Located on Fountain City Road, the dog park features areas for small dogs (30 pounds and under) and dogs of all sizes, the latter of which features a pond with a dock. The larger park also has playgrounds, walking trails, restrooms and an 18-hole Frisbee golf course.
“This nomination reflects the pride our community takes in providing a quality space for our furry friends and their owners,” said Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs. “Let’s keep the momentum going!”
Voting will continue until Monday, June 24, with the public able to vote once a day.
