The American Humane Society has officially launched its 15th annual Hero Dog Awards®, honoring the nation’s most courageous and inspiring canines.
Often referred to as the “Oscars for canines,” the prestigious awards recognize exceptional dogs across the country—those who serve on the front lines as military or working dogs, perform lifesaving feats, provide essential emotional support, or simply improve the lives of those around them through extraordinary companionship.
“Through the Hero Dog Awards, we celebrate the incredible bond between humans and animals,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of the American Humane Society. “We are proud to mark 15 years of sharing uplifting stories about heroes on both ends of the leash and giving these remarkable dogs the recognition they deserve.”
Each year, the awards highlight not just the heroism of dogs, but also the critical roles they play in public safety, therapy, and everyday life.
