Amber, a retriever cross reported missing over a month ago, has been safely rescued—found swimming in the middle of Poole Harbour, some 40 miles from her foster home in the New Forest.
Originally rescued from the streets of Qatar by a UK-based charity, Amber had run away from her foster home near Bradshaw in April. On Saturday, May 31, two men sailing through the harbour spotted her paddling in open water and safely retrieved her.
Rescuers believe Amber had spent the past few days on Brownsea Island before attempting to swim back to the mainland. She is now back in the care of KS Angels Rescue, where she’s recovering from her wild journey with plenty of pampering—and, for now, “three leads attached and a guard at all times.”
