The American Humane Society—the nation’s first national animal welfare organization—has officially launched the 15th annual Hero Dog Awards®, celebrating the most courageous and inspiring dogs in America.
This beloved nationwide campaign honors ordinary dogs who perform extraordinary acts—from military and working dogs serving on the frontlines, to therapy animals, life-saving companions, and those who contribute significantly to human wellbeing.
“Through the Hero Dog Awards, we celebrate the incredible bond between humans and animals,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of the American Humane Society. “We are proud to mark 15 years of sharing uplifting stories about heroes on both ends of the leash and giving these remarkable dogs the recognition they deserve.”
Over the past decade and a half, the awards have become a cherished tradition, spotlighting stories that exemplify bravery, loyalty, and the human-animal connection at its best.
