Nine Dogs Die in South Broadway Fire Despite Fast Firefighter Response

A devastating fire broke out at a small residential structure in the South Broadway neighborhood just after noon on Saturday, killing nine dogs. This marks the second fire in the metro area in two months that has resulted in the deaths of multiple dogs.

According to a statement from the fire department, crews arrived quickly and brought the blaze under control within 11 minutes. Firefighters rescued 17 dogs from the home, but sadly, only nine survived. One of the rescued dogs later died from its injuries.

The incident has raised renewed concerns about pet safety during home emergencies. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
