From the very start, the atmosphere at the 26th Parade of Dogs Looking for a Home was filled with positivity and hope. Shelter staff and volunteers arrived with great enthusiasm, while hundreds of visitors gathered in the plaza outside the shelter, ready to open their hearts and homes to new canine companions.
Organized by the protective AUPA and BIOPARC Foundation, this special edition featured presenter Carolina Femenia from À Punt, who narrated the stories of 30 dogs walking the catwalk. Many of these dogs had been directly affected by the tragic DANA flood, and most were housed at the Modepran shelter.
The emotional impact was palpable as attendees learned about heartbreaking cases: Sheila, who lost her human companion and urgently needs a loving home at 7 years old; Lua, handed over to the shelter after her family lost everything; Teo, a malnourished stray without a microchip, whose family remains unknown; Gahara, abandoned in a chalet with other dogs after the disaster; Bunny, rescued by police from a mud-filled, neglected home; and Tysson, Days, and Bull, who survived the devastation at the Modepran shelter in Carlet caused by the catastrophe.
This event not only highlighted the resilience of these dogs but also the community’s dedication to giving them a second chance.
