The popular interactive exhibit Dogs! A Science Tail is back at the California Science Center, inviting visitors to dive deeper into the fascinating bond between humans and dogs. Originally created by the Center in 2019, the hands-on exhibition is open and free to the public.
The exhibit offers a multi-sensory experience, showcasing how dogs interpret the world through their exceptional senses of smell, hearing, and sight — while highlighting scientific advances that help us understand them better.
Visitors can:
Hear sounds inaudible to humans but clear to dogs
Unearth fossil replicas to explore the evolution from wolves to dogs
Walk through a vibrant neighborhood display illustrating how pets support communities
Test their knowledge in “Jeopawdy!”, a dog-themed trivia game inspired by Jeopardy! and hosted by the late Alex Trebek
Additional experiences include racing against a dog’s speed, learning about dog-human working partnerships, interacting with virtual dogs, and sensory simulations that let you see the world through a dog’s eyes.
