Placer County Animal Services is helping senior pet owners by offering a new 50% discount on dog licensing fees for qualifying residents aged 62 and older. The discount applies to up to two spayed or neutered dogs per household and can be accessed through the county’s online licensing portal or in person at the Auburn Animal Services Center.
Katie Ingram, Animal Services program manager, said the discount was launched during Older Americans Month to support seniors in keeping their pets licensed and safe.
Standard license fees are $27 per year for altered dogs ($54 for two years, $63 for three years), with higher fees for unaltered dogs. Placer County’s digital system makes license registration and renewals easy and convenient.
