A 45-year-old man and his son were allegedly attacked after asking two men not to let their dog defecate outside their home in Sector-4.
Ashwani Thakur, the father, has filed a police complaint about the incident, which took place around 6 p.m. on May 18. Thakur said he was sitting outside his house when two brothers, who live in a nearby rented house, walked by with their dog. The dog defecated near his home — something Thakur claims had been happening repeatedly for nearly a week, despite his earlier warnings.
When Thakur confronted the brothers, an argument broke out. The men allegedly assaulted Thakur first. One of them then hit his son with a brick and beat him, fracturing one of his fingers. Thakur also said one of the accused stole his gold chain before running away. He added that one of the brothers appeared to be carrying a knife. Thakur was later taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police at Sector-5 station have registered a case under Sections 115, 117(2), and 3(5) of the Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The accused, identified as Gurwinder and his brother, are under investigation.
