The Pacific Steel & Recycling Trailside Dog Park in Great Falls will temporarily close for several weeks beginning Tuesday, May 27, as part of its regularly scheduled annual maintenance.
The closure will allow the city to perform turf repairs, including fertilization, overseeding, and irrigation, ensuring the park remains in top shape for local dogs and their owners.
Great Falls resident Evelyn Kunkel, a regular visitor, shared her thoughts while walking her dog, Brandon: “This dog park is much larger than my backyard, and he loves running around with the other dogs.”
Though many regulars will miss their daily visits, the temporary closure is met with understanding.
“I can understand why they have to close it,” Kunkel said. “They do a great job maintaining it, and we want to keep it that way.”
The park is expected to reopen in about three weeks, after which dogs and their owners will once again be able to enjoy the spacious grounds.
