A dog left outside a Las Vegas shelter after hours was taken by an unknown passerby, according to the Nevada SPCA.
Staff at the shelter discovered an empty crate at the building’s entrance . Security footage revealed that two individuals had left what appeared to be an English Bulldog in the crate the previous evening, shortly after the shelter closed.
The dog was left unattended for nearly four hours before a passerby removed it. The shelter currently does not know the dog’s whereabouts.
“Abandoning an animal in this way is not only heartbreaking—it’s illegal and dangerous,” said Nevada SPCA Executive Director Lori Heeren. “We offer resources to help struggling pet owners, including our Community Support Program and owner surrender appointments. There is no need to resort to abandonment.”
The shelter is urging anyone with information about the dog or its current location to come forward.
