Dog owners in the Tri-Cities area will soon enjoy a brand-new space to let their pets run and play freely. Construction is underway on a 3.25-acre dog park at Columbia Park, located behind the Toyota of Tri-Cities Playground of Dreams.
This new facility will feature separate areas for small, medium, and large dogs, catering to the needs of pets of all sizes. The large dog section will be notably bigger, reflecting the needs of the community.
Currently, only one dog park serves the entire Tri-Cities metro area, so this addition will greatly expand recreational options for local pet owners.
Brandon Lange, Recreation Manager for the City of Kennewick, expressed enthusiasm about the project, calling Columbia Park “the best place in Tri-Cities” for the new regional dog park.
The park is expected to open by the end of June 2025.
