A humane society in Tennessee is searching for a man who dumped a dog on Monday night.
The Humane Society of Dickson County reported that the man left a German Shepherd in “distressing conditions” overnight.
According to the shelter, the man arrived in a white Ford F-150 truck carrying a bottomless wire crate in the truck bed. The dog was inside the crate.
The man pulled the crate, with the dog still inside, out of the truck and dragged it to the side of the shelter building. He then made a rude gesture at the shelter before driving away, leaving the dog behind in poor condition.
The humane society called the act “heartbreaking and unacceptable.”
The dog is now safe and receiving care. The shelter is asking the public to help find the man responsible. “We must hold this individual accountable,” the humane society said, urging people to share the post.
