Monty Don Unveils Dog-Friendly Garden at Chelsea Flower Show

by Lisa

Two of Britain’s great loves — dogs and gardens — come together at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, where celebrated gardener Monty Don has created a unique green space designed to delight both pets and their people.

Don’s garden features a lush lawn for dogs to run, play, and rest, complemented by a wooden bench with soft cushions for owners to relax and enjoy the scene. The design reflects Don’s signature warmth and deep understanding of both horticulture and the human-animal bond.

Before the show’s expected 140,000 visitors arrive for the five-day event hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society, King Charles III and Queen Camilla — well-known dog lovers — were scheduled for a special preview on Monday.

A national treasure and longtime host of the BBC’s Gardeners’ World, the 69-year-old Monty Don has charmed audiences for over two decades. He is often seen strolling through his own two-acre garden in Longmeadow, near the Welsh border, accompanied by his dogs — most recently, golden retriever Ned.
