Barrow County Animal Control has received a crucial new resource to support pets in emergencies—the 117th AKC Pet Disaster Relief trailer donated by AKC Reunite, the largest nonprofit pet identification and recovery service provider in the U.S.
Delivered on May 31st, this fully equipped trailer will be ready to deploy to any local disaster scene to assist with sheltering pets displaced by emergencies.
The trailer includes supplies and equipment designed to ensure the safety and care of animals during disasters.
Tom Sharp, President and CEO of AKC Reunite, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from clubs nationwide. “AKC Reunite is grateful for the clubs around the country that help make trailers like the one in Barrow County possible,” Sharp said.
“This growing area between Athens and Atlanta will have the equipment they need when disaster strikes.”
This donation strengthens Barrow County’s ability to respond to pet-related needs in crises, providing peace of mind to pet owners throughout the community.
