Rancho Luna Lobos, a family-run dogsledding ranch in Summit County, has launched a new podcast to meet growing public interest in their dogs, their sport, and their way of life.
Fernando Ramirez, who co-owns the ranch with his wife in Park City, says the podcast will give listeners a deeper look into their family, philosophy, and the dogs they care for. The goal is to share personal stories, clear up common misunderstandings about dogsledding, and introduce more people to the world they love.
During year-round public tours at the ranch, guests often ask about the dogs—many of whom come from at-risk backgrounds and can be reactive or have what Ramirez calls “tricky personalities.” The podcast aims to answer those questions and more.
While their international racing team remains strong, Ramirez says shrinking snowpacks have made local dogsled rides less dependable than they used to be. These rides were once a key part of educating and entertaining visitors.
As a result, the ranch is now putting more focus on its summer camps, which are open for registration and have sold out in previous years.
