Foxy Awaits Forever Home After Two Years at Laredo Shelter

by Lisa

After nearly two years of waiting, a 9-year-old shepherd mix named Foxy is still searching for a forever home at the Laredo Animal Protective Society (LAPS).

Foxy was surrendered to the shelter when her previous owner could no longer provide care. Despite her long stay, she remains a hopeful and affectionate companion, ready to meet her new family.

“She’s fully grown, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed,” said Merla, a representative from LAPS. “She’s also protected against fleas, ticks, and heartworms.”

Known for her friendly nature, Foxy enjoys simple pleasures like leisurely walks, car rides, and human company. While she gets along well with children, she thrives best as the only dog in a household.

“She loves a bit of adventure, but after an outing, she’s perfectly content to relax and unwind,” Merla added.

Prospective adopters can meet Foxy in person at the shelter, located at 2500 Gonzalez Street. The facility welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information, contact LAPS at 956-724-8364.

As a no-kill shelter, LAPS is committed to providing care for animals as long as necessary. However, staff hope Foxy’s story reaches a compassionate adopter soon, freeing up space and resources to help more animals in need.
