A tragic fire in Scott, Louisiana, resulted in the death of a family dog and significant damage to a home. On May 12, around 8:30 a.m., the Scott Fire Department responded to a residential fire at a home on Mills Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the structure and quickly identified the source of the blaze in a bedroom that had spread into the kitchen. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevent further damage.
Sadly, the family dog did not survive the fire, and the home suffered substantial damage in the bedroom and kitchen, with heat and smoke damage throughout the house.
Authorities later determined that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in the bedroom. Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the incident, and there were no firefighter injuries reported.
