Bannock Humane Society’s Annual Pet Food Drive Set for June 21

by Lisa

Bannock Humane Society will hold its annual pet food drive on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ridley’s in Historic Downtown Pocatello.

The food drive takes place on the third Saturday of every month and accepts donations of dog, cat, kitten, and puppy food — including opened packages.

The goal is to stock the society’s pantries to help foster animals and community members in need. Food Drive Coordinator Anita Sorensen hopes to collect 3,200 pounds of pet food by Christmas.

“We really need dry cat, kitten, dog, and puppy food for our fosters and for people who come on the third Wednesdays to pick up food when they need it,” Sorensen said. “If they have budget problems, we try to help as much as we can.”
