Royal Canin U.S., a leading pet health nutrition brand under Mars, Inc., has launched Royal Canin Fresh Health Nutrition, marking its entry into the growing gently cooked pet food segment.
The new line represents a shift from Royal Canin’s traditional dry and wet food offerings, incorporating fresh, gently cooked ingredients while maintaining the brand’s hallmark of science-based, life stage-specific nutrition developed over more than five decades.
Designed for dogs at three life stages—puppy, adult, and senior—the line is formulated with what Royal Canin describes as a “fresh nutrient design” to address age-specific health needs.
“This launch marks a significant innovation as our first gently cooked food tailored to unique health needs at each life stage,” said Stanley Browning, general manager of the U.S. Pet Specialty Retail Business Unit at Royal Canin North America. “We developed this line with the same scientific rigor and commitment to nutritional precision that Royal Canin is known for.”
Each formula includes carefully selected ingredients for targeted health benefits:
Puppy Formula: Chicken and eggs for protein, peas and summer squash for fiber and vitamins, fish oil to support brain development, and brown rice for digestive health.
Adult Formula: Pork as the main protein, combined with spinach, summer squash, and brown rice for a balanced diet.
Senior Formula: A mix of chicken and beef proteins, kale for bone support, antioxidants from summer squash, and brown rice for digestion.
The move reflects Royal Canin’s response to the growing demand for fresh pet food that prioritizes both palatability and nutritional science, catering to pet owners who seek more natural, minimally processed options.
