Partners Group, a global private markets firm, has acquired MPM Products, a UK-based premium cat food manufacturer, from investment firm 3i. The acquisition positions Partners Group to benefit from rising demand for high-quality pet food.
MPM Products is known for its premium wet cat food brands, including Applaws, Reveal, and Encore. The company emphasizes products made with real meat, fish, and natural ingredients. MPM sells its products in over 50 countries, holding strong market positions in North America and Europe through both e-commerce and retail channels.
Nicholas Caronna, a member of management at Partners Group’s Private Equity Goods & Products division, highlighted the sector’s strengths: “Cat ownership is growing in developed countries, and the cat food market has remained resilient even during economic ups and downs. MPM has made great progress expanding geographically, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
Partners Group plans to collaborate closely with MPM’s existing management team to accelerate growth by increasing sales in current markets, entering new regions, and enhancing supply chain capabilities.
