The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Good Farm Dog Treats at the Winona Lake Farmers Market on Saturday. The business is co-owned by husband-and-wife team Brooks and Mikie Stogsdill.
“We just love dogs, and that’s why we’re in business,” said Brooks.
Based in Warsaw, Good Farm Dog Treats is a locally owned company that grows some of the all-natural and organic ingredients used in its products. Their top seller is the peanut butter cravers, described by Mikie as “a three-ingredient treat with no preservatives or added fillers.”
In addition to treats, the business offers dog food suitable for all sizes, as well as all-natural grooming sprays, shampoos, and balms. They also run the Jar Club, a monthly subscription program where members receive a cut glass jar from Warsaw Cut Glass, mystery treats with their orders, and a free birthday pup cake to celebrate their dog’s birthday or adoption day.
While the business has been operating officially for two years, the Stogsdills started making healthy, nutritious dog food for their own dogs 10 years ago, aiming to “kick the kibble.”
The couple says their mission is to “provide good nutrition and extend the longevity of your dog’s lifespan.”
Good Farm Dog Treats also partners with local dog rescues, selling treats as fundraisers for nonprofits and animal shelters.
To purchase Good Farm Dog Treats, visit one of their local retail partners: Warsaw Health Foods or Lake City Animal Clinic in Warsaw, The Polka Dot Tail or Blue Barn Berry Farm in Syracuse, Miller’s Orchard in Nappanee, or Owen’s Fresh Meat Market in Leesburg.
