The Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club recently hosted a thrilling event at the County Paws Canine Athletic Center in Stevens Point, where dog owners and their pets competed in exciting activities.
Among the highlights were a diving competition, where dogs leaped to see how far they could jump or how fast they could swim. Another popular event was the fast cat competition, which tested the dogs’ speed and agility.
Laura Bronk, owner of County Paws Canine Athletic Center, shared her passion for competitive dock diving, a sport she’s been involved with since 2018. “We’ve got 7 dogs that do this. It’s really just a passion,” she said. Bronk also mentioned that participants came from near and far, including locations like South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.
The event welcomed dogs of all sizes, from experienced competitors to first-time participants, with some simply joining for fun while others took it more seriously. The competition provided a wonderful opportunity for dog owners to connect, showcase their pets’ skills, and enjoy a day of friendly rivalry.
