Dozens of dog owners and their furry companions gathered at MB Johnson Park in Moorhead, Minnesota, for the 4th Annual Dog Easter Egg Hunt, an event designed to raise funds for Homeward Animal Shelter.
The event, which saw tickets sell out in advance, aimed to support the shelter’s ongoing efforts to care for over a thousand animals each year. Natalie Perhus, Special Events Coordinator at Homeward Animal Shelter, explained the importance of such events, saying, “We are constantly in need of supplies, whether it’s dog food, cat litter, bleach, so many things we are in need of on a regular basis. Events like this help us provide for the animals in our care, and that number keeps rising every year.”
In addition to the Easter egg hunt, participants had the chance to win exciting prizes by discovering special golden eggs scattered throughout the park. Two lucky dogs and their owners found the golden eggs, which could be exchanged for a variety of prizes, including bags of treats, chews, toys, and gift cards.
With an estimated $1,200 to $1,500 raised through ticket sales and donations, the event was a resounding success, offering fun for both people and pets while benefiting a worthy cause.
